Barbara Dempsey

Barbara Dempsey passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 22, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Manor, she was 85.  Born in Philadelphia Barbara worked for many years as a receptionist for a local doctors office.  She enjoyed bowling in a league at Erie Bowling Lanes, reading mystery novels and doing crossword puzzles.  An avid Eagles and Phillies fan, who also enjoyed going to casinos and taking trips to the beach and boardwalk.  She was also a true animal lover.  By far Barbara’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, a true people person Barbara never met a stranger and enjoyed being around people.

Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph T. Dempsey.  She will be dearly and truly missed by her children Austin (Kathy) Lathrop, Peter (Rena) Lathrop, Claudia (William) Hansberry, and Stephen Lathrop.  Along with her grandchildren Dawn, Colleen, Michele, Janise, Peter, Jason, Monique, Barbarann, Jennifer, William, Kimberly, Danielle, Stephen, Joey, and their respective partners.  Also by her many great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service 11am Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Faust Funeral Home Inc. 902 Bellevue Ave. Hulmeville, PA 19047.  Where friends will be received from 9am until service at 11am.  Interment to follow at New Cathedral Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital stjude.org/donate
