Joseph Rex Dinardo, Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 19, 2021, he was 75. Born in Hastings, Nebraska to the late Joseph Rex Dinardo, Sr. and LaVonne Dudley Dinardo, Joe was a proud member of the United States Army serving time in Vietnam. While working as a Radio Teletype Operator in the service he was awarded several medals and accommodations such as the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal while serving with the 9th infantry division. After his time in the service, Joe worked for many years in research and development for the David Sarnoff Research Center. Joe enjoyed all animals, especially reptiles, and he had an extensive live reptile collection. He was a lover of nature, studying and speaking on herpetology, and even owning his own book company specifically for herpetology. He was a great collector of books and films. Joe also loved Latin and was a former member of the Latin Honors Society, NASCAR, all sports, nature walks, and a good movie. Joe was predeceased by his brothers Bruce Angelo Dinardo and Gerald Lee Dinardo. He will be deeply missed by his sister Pamela Lucille Dinardo, niece Constantina LaVonne Lambrou-Marino and her husband Matthew R. Marino. Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside service Friday, September 10, 2021 at 9:30 am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
