Elizabeth “Betty” Lois Kornstedt (nee Donnelly) , passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Juniper Village of Bucks County in Bensalem, PA. She was 94.
Her life was defined by her kind spirit, servants heart, her devout Catholic faith and her service to all those around her.
Betty was predeceased by her devoted husband of 67 years, Henry R. Kornstedt, III in 2019. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mae (nee Myers) Donnelly and was also preceded by three of her siblings Thomas Donnelly, Joseph Donnelly and Mary Neill, with whom she had a close sibling’s bond until their passing. Betty will be deeply missed by her cherished children who both lit up her life Bethanne Maffei and Henry Robert Kornstedt, IV. Along with her two grandsons Michael (Marquesa) and Matthew Maffei. She will also be missed by her dear brother Larry Donnelly, several special nieces and nephews, and all those whose life she touched with her angelic loving spirit.
Raised in Bristol, PA., Betty graduated from Bristol High School where she enjoyed playing Basketball and marching, high school is also where she met her future husband Henry. She worked from 1948 to 1962 at Rohm & Haas before joining Shear Magic from 1968 until her retirement in 1995 as a secretary. Always striving for education Betty attended Burlington County Community College and took night courses after her children went to college.
Betty belonged to Riverside Historical Society and the Willingboro Art Alliance. She was very involved in a Bereavement group and bible study and with Shawl Crochet Group and Renew Small Group. Her life was defined by love, she was always available as a listening ear or volunteer, always putting others before herself. She was devoted and loyal to all who knew her. She enjoyed quilting and sewing clothing designs her daughter had made. Also, travelling extensively across the world with her beloved Henry, making memories of a lifetime.
Betty’s faith has sustained her throughout her life and she was actively involved in St. Peter’s Parish, where she served in the choir, Eucharistic Minister and served as a teacher for 30 years with the Holy Innocence Society.
Family and friends are invited to attend Betty’s viewing from 10am to 11am Saturday, September 14, 2024 at St. Ephrem’s Church 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020, with a mass to follow. Interment will be held at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Bridgeboro Road, Riverside, NJ.
