Daniel Edward Heffernan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at St. Mary Medical Center, he was 75. Born to the late Edward Francis and M. Bernice (nee McGorry) Heffernan, Dan proudly served in the U.S Navy. He served in South Vietnam with the “Mobile Riverene Force” in the Mekong Delta, which patrolled the delta and surrounding tributaries. Upon returning to the Navy, he served as the leading Petty Officer of the first division of the USS Concord, being awarded multiple Commendations and Medals.  After the Navy, Dan became self-employed and opened General Insurance Associates and Family Money Management Services, Inc. He was a loving man who enjoyed spending time with his family and being outdoors. Dan loved to fish, loved target shooting as he was a former NRA instructor, boating, visiting the casinos, and tending to his gardens. But above all Daniel adored being with his grandchildren and playing chess with his grandson Domonic.
Along with his parents, Daniel is predeceased by his brother Timothy Heffernan and brothers-in-law Dennis Noiseux and David Goodman. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 50 years Helen (nee Pendrak) and their son Edward Joseph (Maria) Heffernan, his grandchildren Domonic, Elaina, and Jason, his siblings Patrick (Theresa) Heffernan, Shawn (Joann) Heffernan, Therese Noiseux, and Mary Bernice Goodman, along with several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Our Lady of Calvary Catholic Church 11024 Knights Rd. Philadelphia, PA 19154 from 9am until 10:30am followed by a Requiem  Mass at 10:30am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery Bensalem, PA. Care entrusted to Faust Funeral Home Inc.
