On Thursday, February 9, 2023, David Jenkins, formerly of Levittown PA, passed away at his home, Holland Village, in Holland PA. He was 95.

David was born on May 2, 1927, in West Hazleton PA where he lived until he graduated from Hazelton High School in 1945. He then enlisted in the United States Army in the Army Air Corps where he was trained as a medic and quickly rose the rank of Sergeant. Upon leaving the Army, David attended and graduated from Bloomsburg State Teachers College. He began working for the National Security Agency (NSA) in Arlington, Virginia, where he met his future wife of 60 years, Freda Skallman of Bigfork, MN. He later worked for Parke-Davis Drug Co. in Lynchburg VA and Trenton NJ. David resided in Levittown, PA with his wife until 2007 in the home where they raised their two sons, David and Jeff. He also worked for Corning Glass Works and O.C. Tanner Co. before starting his own business in 1976, The DW Jenkins Co. He retired in 1992, while representing the company he Co-founded, the Tharpe Company of Statesville, NC. David was active as a Deacon in the First Presbyterian Church of Levittown, the Masonic Lodge of Fairless Hills, the Masonic Lodge of Newtown, and the Keystone Packard Club. He enjoyed fishing and took bi-annual family vacations to Minnesota. He enjoyed the hobby of restoring and driving his two classic Packard automobiles. He was also President of the Friends for the Neshaminy Maple Point High School Concert Choir for a number of years. He helped with the creation of Adio Institute of Straight Chiropractic as an advisor in 1980.  He was active in his community and worked hard to get things done, to which his family and friends often referred to him as “The Mayor.” David was married to Freda M. Jenkins for 62 years. David is survived by his two sons, David W. Jenkins IV, DC and Jeffrey R. Jenkins; two daughters-in-law, Nicolette Jenkins and Beth Fizell-Jenkins; and two grandsons Trevor Owen Forrest Jenkins and Jay Norris Jenkins.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, Thursday, February 23, 2023, with a service to immediately follow at Faust Funeral Home, 902 Bellevue Ave, Hulmeville PA 19047. Interment will be at 1:00 pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown PA 18940.
