Burial Date June 16, 2026
John Paul Arthur Jr. (June 8, 1964 – June 11, 2026) was born in Philadelphia, lived for decades in Northfield, NJ, where with his wife of more than forty years, Elena Arthur, he raised his son, John Paul Arthur III, and daughter, Stella Arthur. He and Elena met on April 3, 1984, at Casino Schools Incorporated, and in true Atlantic City fashion had their first date at White House Subs. He worked for more than forty years in the casino industry in both Atlantic City and in Bensalem, PA. He was a voracious reader, mostly of fantasy novels, and also wrote stories, poems, and a novel. He was quick-witted, had a dark sense of humor, and enjoyed British comedy like Monty Python. He loved surf fishing on Corson’s Inlet, taking long hikes, Philadelphia sports, cooking shows, and spending time with his wife and family.
He was predeceased by his parents, John Paul Arthur Sr. and Janet Arthur, his father-in-law John Fahey, and is survived by his wife Elena Arthur, his mother-in-law Stella Fahey, his sisters Susan Arthur and JoAnn Betz (Paul Alan), his brother Dennis Lehr, his children John Paul Arthur III (Khushbu) and Stella Arthur, and his grandchildren Harmony, Josiah, Maya, and Mira. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place privately. A celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday, June 16 starting at noon at Ye Olde Mill Street Pub (6033 Main Street, Mays Landing, NJ 08330).
