May 7, 1942 - May 4, 2021

Peter Charles Defino (“Poppa”), age 78, of Penndel, Pennsylvania, passed away at Holy Redeemer Hospital, in the early morning of May 4, 2021. He spent his last days as he spent his life, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born on May 7, 1942, grew up in Middlesex, New Jersey, and went on to marry Emma Hartrum in 1964. They were blessed with five daughters, which they raised in Bound Brook, New Jersey. The family were longtime residents and members of St. Joseph Church. He was a long-standing member of the Bound Brook Elks and presided as Chaplain for many years.
Peter was predeceased by his parents, George and Florence Defino as well as his wife Emma. He is survived by his siblings, Rochelle Wyckoff, Dominic Defino, and George Defino and their families as well as his five daughters and their spouses Ann Marie and Joseph Robalik, Eileen and Kevin Bolduc, Donna and Jeffrey Leip, Florence and Raymond Jerome Davis, and Paula and James Arnold, as well as 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He loved cars and owned his own business, Defino’s Auto Body, of Hillsborough, New Jersey. He was an avid watcher of the New York Yankees and New York Giants, and an Indy Car and NASCAR enthusiast. He attended countless car shows with his family and cousin Frank Defino. He spent his retirement years alongside his cousin, Michael Defino, at his store where he honed his skills for silver collecting. He taught all of us how to love unconditionally and that family is always the most important thing. He opened his heart to everyone and cared deeply for them.
He passed on his love of poker and 500 rummy and always kept a deck of cards nearby for a quick game. He loved crossword puzzles and always completed them in pen with his impeccable penmanship. He was a treasure to all his loved ones, their friends, and extended family. Words cannot truly do justice to his kind and loving nature. As he always said, “To know you is to love you” and he was well loved.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 22, at Faust Funeral Home, 902 Bellevue Avenue, Hulmeville, PA, 19047, Where friends and family will be received from 2pm until 5pm with Peter’s funeral service beginning at 5pm.
