April 6, 1965 - July 1, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Schwinger, aged 61, on July 1, 2026. Born on April 6, 1965, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Scott left this world peacefully, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with a long illness.   Scott was the cherished son of the late Charles W. Schwinger and Barbara Ann Schwinger. His parents, along with his beloved wife, Joanne Schwinger, who passed away on April 10, 2016, predeceased him. Scotts enduring love for Joanne was a testament to their beautiful marriage, which began on June 16, 2001. Her loss left a void in his heart that he carried with him until his final days. Now they are together again.

A proud graduate of Pennsbury High Schools Class of 1982, Scott was known for his unwavering dedication to his family. He was affectionately known by many nicknames, including Scooter, Uncle Caca, Scotty Chotty, and Uncle Grandpa. His playful spirit and warm heart endeared him to all who knew him, especially his great nieces and nephews, who brought him immense joy. He also loved his cat Cujo.   Scotts love for baseball card collecting was a lifelong passion, and he could often be found at card shows, enthusiastically sharing his knowledge and stories with fellow collectors. His collection was more than just a hobby; it was a testament to his appreciation for history and the connections he made through it. Scott was a dedicated Cowboys and Phillies fan.

He is survived by his devoted siblings, Charles Schwinger and his partner Meredith, and Lisa A. Johnson and her husband Bill, and Donna Schwinger. Scott was a doting uncle to his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Winkler and her husband Scott, Charles Schwinger IV, JT Hartley, Joshua Johnson and his wife Maddy, and Samuel Johnson. His heart also held a special place for his grandson, Michael, whom he loved and missed dearly.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Brookside Healthcare and Jefferson Bayada Hospice for the exceptional care and respect shown to Scott during his final journey. Special mention goes to Chuck and Meredith for the wonderful home care Scott received in the early stages of his illness prior to needing hospital and extended care.   In accordance with Scotts wishes, a private memorial will be held to honor his life. The family invites those who wish to honor Scotts memory to make donations to the Dallas Cowboys to buy them a Super Bowl win!!!!   Though Scotts physical presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His kindness, humor, and unwavering commitment to family will forever be remembered and cherished.
